Setting up your FedEx Web Services connection is a multi-step process. Follow the instructions below to ensure your connection is set up properly.
1. Ensure you have a FedEx account and a fedex.com account. Go to FedEx's website at www.fedex.com and access the 'New Customer Center' if you do not have a FedEx account and/or a fedex.com account. Follow the instructions there to create both types of accounts.
2. Next, visit the 'FedEx Developer Resource Center' on FedEx's website at www.fedex.com, and login using your fedex.com account. Select 'Web Services for Shipping' as your desired location on the login form.
3. After logging in, click the 'Develop and Test Your Application' link on the 'FedEx Developer Resource Center' page, then click the 'Obtain Developer Test Key' link on the 'Develop and Test Your Application' page. Complete all steps necessary to obtain a developer test key.
4. After you have obtained a developer test key, click the 'Move to Production' link on the 'FedEx Developer Resource Center' page, then click the 'Obtain Production Key' link on the 'Move to Production' page. Complete all steps necessary to obtain a production key. On the confirmation page, you will be presented with a 'Authentication Key'. Copy this authentication key, as you will need to complete the information below. The authentication key will not be emailed to you, but everything else you need to complete the information below will be sent via email.
5. Check your email 'Production Key Registration' message from FedEx. Use the information contained in the 'Production Key Registration' message you receive, and the 'Authentication Key' you copied in the last step, to complete the information below. Once you have completed the information below, click 'Submit' to activate your FedEx Web Services connection.
